Back in October 2022, Walmart was sued with allegations that it overcharged its customers for weighted goods and bagged citrus, and after the months-long legal proceedings, the company agreed to a settlement of $45M to benefit the class members.

Who are among the class members?
Individuals who belong to the US or Puerto Rico and made a purchase of certain weighted goods and/or bagged citrus from a Walmart store between October 19, 2018, and January 19, 2024, are considered as class members to receive the settlement payout.
Note that the weighted goods are fresh chicken, beef, pork, seafood, turkey, meat sold by the pound, and seafood sold by the pound; and the bagged citrus are oranges, navel oranges, organic oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines or mandarins.
What do I have to do to get a payout?
To receive the Walmart weighted goods settlement payment, it is mandatory that the class members file a valid claim form by the due date set by the court. Note that the deadline to do so was June 5, 2024, and no new claim forms are accepted.
If you already have filed a claim form for the Walmart weighted goods settlement payment, then you will surely get the payment. To receive the payment, there is one more condition, and that is you mustn’t have opted out of the class members.
How much will be received?
The total settlement fund is $45 million; it is being distributed among the class members based on their claim form. You can get a maximum of 2% of your total purchase, which can go up to $500, in case of providing valid purchase proof.
Note that the payout from the settlement will also be received by those claim members who haven’t provided any purchase proof. The payment amount for these claimants depends on the number of eligible purchases.
- If you have purchased up to 50 eligible items, you will get $10.
- For 51 to 75 valid purchases, your payment will be $15.
- In the case of the 100 to 151 items, you will receive $20.
- If the number of your purchases increases the figure of 100, you will get $25.

How to file a claim form?
Filing a claim form for the Walmart weighted goods settlement is quite easy; the instructions to do so online and via mail are available below.
Online
- Go to WalmartWeightedGroceriesSettlement.com
- Click Submit Claim
- Enter your Unique ID & PIN, or click “No Claim ID?” to continue without one.
- Click Login.
- Choose your claim type:
- Without receipts: Select number of eligible purchases,
- With receipts: Upload receipt images or screenshots.
- Enter your name, address, email, and payment method.
- Review everything and click the Submit Claim button.
Via Mail:
- Download & print the claim form.
- Fill out the form with your name, address, and claim details; make sure to check “no receipt” or attach receipts.
- Sign and date the form
- Place in envelope with form and receipt copies, if any.

What about the payout?
The payout for the class members who filed a valid claim is already taking place from September 30, 2025, and it is expected that it will be received by all the claimants by November 2025. They are getting the payout from the opted payment gateway.
If you have chosen any electronic payment gateway such as direct deposit, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, etc., you should check your bank account or wallet; and in the case of the paper check, it will be received in your mailbox, so keep checking it also.
Will I get the payment or not?
The Walmart weighted goods settlement payment will be received by you only if you are among the class members, filed a valid claim by the official due date with or without purchase proof, and provided accurate payment details for the settlement payout.
