This settlement has already received a preliminary approval from the court, after all the individuals who are affected by the data breach incident got a notice from the settlement administrator with details about filling the claim form to get the settlement payment.
The important dates for this settlement are made public: the due date to submit a claim is December 3, 2025; the deadline to opt out from the class member and object to the settlement is November 25, 2025; and the final approval hearing is all set to take place on December 16, 2025, at 02:00 pm.
Who is eligible for payment?
To receive payout from this SHCG data breach settlement, it is mandatory you meet the following three conditions:
- You are a citizen of the US and live in any territory of the country.
- You are among the individuals whose personal information was compromised in the March 2022 data breach, and
- You received a notice from the settlement administrator with a Class Member ID.
What to do to get a payout?
To get a payout for the Shields Health Care Group data breach settlement, it is mandatory that an individual whose personal information was compromised in the data breach file a claim form by the due date. You can file it through the web portal; alternatively, it can be done by mailing the claim form by signing.
If you are planning to file a claim form online, it is highly recommended that you do so as soon as possible so you don’t have to face the last-minute rush. If you want to file it by mail, it is requested that you do so by mailing it at least by the due date, because if you miss the deadline, your claim form won’t be accepted.

Online

- Find and click File Claim.
- Enter your Class Member ID and click on the Next button to log in.
- Fill in your name, address, email, and phone, and choose your claim type.
- Upload documents in the required size and format if you are claiming expenses.
- Review and submit the form, then save and print your confirmation
Offline
- Go to the settlement portal and download the Claim Form.
- Print the form, and fill in your personal details and choose your claim type.
- Attach copies of any proof, if claiming expenses/time, and sign the form.

How much will be received?
The amount you can receive from this settlement depends on the type of claim form you file. There are three types of payouts you can receive from this settlement. If you don’t submit any proof for the out-of-pocket expenses in your claim form, you could receive a flat payment of $50.
If you have suffered ordinary loss due to a data breach incident, then in this situation you can get up to $2,500 by providing out-of-pocket expense proof. Along with this, you will get an additional $25 per hour for every hour you spend; it can be claimed for up to 5 hours.
If you have suffered a significant loss due to the Shields Health Care Group data breach incident, you can claim up to $25,000 by providing proof of loss. You will also receive compensation for up to 20 hours for the time at the rate of $30 per hour.
What about the payout?
This settlement payout will only be available to class members who filed their clean form on or before the last date. The payout process will begin a few months after final approval. Generally, the settlement begins within 90 days of final approval, if there is no appeal.
The final approval hearing for this settlement is scheduled for December 16, 2025. If it receives final approval on this date without appeal, we can be confident that we will receive the payout by March 2026. In the event of an appeal, we will have to wait longer.
The entire amount from the settlement fund is also going to be distributed among the class members, in which approximately 30 to 35% share will go towards attorney and administration costs, and the remaining amount will be distributed among the claimants.
