What has happened in this settlement so far?
In December 2021, the class action lawsuit was filed against the company, and then after a long discussion between both parties, the defendant agreed to the settlement of $95 million without accepting any wrongdoing.
The case got preliminary approval in February 2025, and the option to file a claim form, opt out from the class members, and object to the settlement was available starting in May 2025, whose a deadline was July 2, 2025.
The hearing for the final approval was held on August 22, 2025, and then it received a final approval on October 14, 2025. Now the big step is the release of the payment; all the class members who filed a claim form are now eagerly waiting for the payout release.

Who will get the payment?
This settlement payout is going to be received only by those individuals who meet the following eligibility requirements.
- You are a resident of the US or its territories (e.g., Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, DC, etc.).
- You purchased a Siri-enabled device: iPhone 6 or newer, iPad, Apple Watch Series 1 or newer, Mac or MacBook, HomePod/HomePod mini, Apple TV, or iPod Touch between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024.
- Siri activated and recorded audio from a private and/or confidential conversation without your intent to trigger it.
- You filed a claim form by the deadline of July 2, 2025, ensuring all the details you are providing are accurate.
Despite being among the class members, if you have missed the deadline to file the claim form, you won’t get any payout.
How much will be received?
The total settlement fund is going to be distributed among claimants, attorney fees, administrative costs, and court-approved expenses, after deducting the charges and fee, around $64 million remains, which is going to be distributed among the class members who filed a claim form.
The payout amount from this settlement depends on the number of devices a class member has claimed; the payment can be received for up to 5 devices with a maximum rate of $20. If you have filed a claim form and claimed 5 devices, you can get a maximum payout of $100.
If the number of claims is larger than the expectation, you may receive a smaller amount, and if the claim is lower than the expectation, you can expect to get a bigger payout. The payment is all set to be distributed on the pro rata basis among all claimants.
When to expect the payout?
The settlement payout usually begins within 90-120 days after getting the final approval from the country, if there is no appeal, and in case of appeal, it takes up to 6 months or even more. As it has already received final approval on October 14, 2025, if there is no appeal, we can expect to get a payout by February 2026.
